I got so much out of this book. And I loved this book. The exercises alone are worth getting it. I especially liked the cable analogy and how there is more than one way to climb a mountain. Wonderful, creative writing, ideas, and exercises. I have read a lot of these sort of books, but this is one of the best and the exercises are better than any middle life book I have run across. Anyone, male or female at middle life will benefit from this well written, well researched, wonderfully creative book.

Various Book Reviews

I found "Women at Halftime" by Deborah Johnson to be a breath of fresh air. This book is a comprehensive guide that provides concrete techniques and tools for women who want to successfully reinvent themselves and climb their personal peak of Hero Mountain.

“Women at Halftime” is a great resource for anyone who feels “stuck” in their career or life path. I had assumed by the title that it was focused on the halfway point of one’s life, making it a middle-aged self-help book. But that’s not what it’s about. Even though that’s the intended audience for the book, you don’t need to be at the halfway point of your life, but rather, the point in any endeavor where you feel slowed down or unmotivated to continue. And that can happen to anyone, at any age.

MARZ

Coming from the music industry, where constant reinventing yourself is a must, the author has created an inspiring and actionable workbook for women who suddenly find themselves in the second half of their lives.
The nicely outlined exercises at the end of each chapter ensure that the book not only is a pleasant read but a tool for reinventing your life for a successful second half.

SILVIE

This book outlines a very practical strategy to evaluate where you are in life and what you are looking for in the equally important but different second half of your life.
It provides a very structured approach to thinking through some important topics, whilst also providing some profound guidance.

In my own words...

When arriving at the halftime of my life, I wanted to expand my business and influence while still fulfilling my love for creating. I had already written and produced a volume of music and was continually releasing songs for licensing and purchase. However,  I felt I could make more impact by  helping others succeed. As I added speaking to my skills, I found I had entered another performance field beyond professional musician and composer. This new arena held additional options for creating a platform of influence, not just products.
