Worm Virus- Brain Hack #2

You have a worm virus that spreads automatically. You find yourself  in your own Groundhog Day. (watch Worm Virus video) You’ve been hit by a virus that makes you repeat each activity and each day endlessly. You aimlessly walk around in circles, working on the same thing over and over and over again. The results are the same. It never gets better.

Insanity Sets In

You walk the same path so many times, you’ve created a groove that looks like a trench in the floor. You feel like you’re going insane because nothing changes. You now imagine yourself in a hamster wheel, spinning in a circle, round and round.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein

Some Solutions

Realize you’re in a bad rut, working toward insanity. Your worm will keep duplicating itself endlessly and automatically until you get rid of it. However, a good rut is a management tool. Define what a good rut would be in your life.

A good rut is a habit that will help you grow personally and learn something new, instead of rehashing the same story over and over again. (If you’ve not watched the movie Groundhog day in awhile, now would be a good time) Try living a little on the wild side, or at least taking baby steps outside the groove you’ve created.

You may be fearful, but remember, healthy fear is a good thing. Healthy fear makes you take a step back and look at the complete situation. To get beyond the frozen feeling of fear, set a goal. A small achievable goal will help you gain momentum and get you out of your hamster wheel. As you accomplish taking those small steps, you will soon be taking larger steps.

Some Ideas

Small goals and steps don’t have to bring huge accomplishments. Start with something you can easily pursue and have fun doing it! Pursue a new hobby, work with a fitness trainer that will challenge you, maybe even pursue a new job. Even a goal of good health, working out and healthier eating habits is a good goal. Do something different to break up the cycle so you’ll be moving forward in a little different direction and every day won’t be completely the same! You are not insane. Many small steps add up to larger steps, decreasing anxiety and stress from running in a circle. You can do it!

Need a Coach?

It’s ideal to have a coach you can call up at any time, but the expense and the time it takes to do that makes that option unrealistic. An online coach and course is the next-best option.DOWNLOAD FREE: Five Ways to Regain Your Personal Identity.
