The Secret to Reinvention-Yes or No?

Most women face Reinvention at halftime. (As a note, men face this too!) I have faced it and currently, most of the 150,000 women entering halftime monthly in the U.S. are facing it, or will in the near future. However, merely facing reinvention is different than successfully meeting in head on, gaining momentum for the second half.

Not Just a Tagline

You’ve probably seen marketing phrases with slogans such as: It’s coming soon, act now or don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!  When marketing with catchy slogans, there is no guarantee a certain tagline or method will work. Similarly, with reinvention, there are no guarantees, overnight results, free trials or scientifically proven methods. But there are principles that if applied will boost your success and create momentum at this very pivotal and exciting time of life.

Everyone approaches halftime with different skills, experience and financial resources.  Evaluating your abilities, knowledge and means, then evaluating your capacity to risk will help you make intelligent, prudent and exciting decisions.

Have you thought of what specific aspects of your life you can channel for an expanded career or even a new career or direction? To start, take stock of your core strengths, or competency. It is a very important aspect of moving on.

Cables of Success

In Hero Mountain,™ we focus on the six cables of success that all work together in order to achieve your mission or purpose. Once you define your purpose, working strategically in the other areas of your life makes your climb to the top much easier. It’s the difference in hiking up a road with multiple switchbacks, slippery slopes and boulders to riding up a gondola.

However, this isn’t to say there’s very little work in getting to the top of the mountain! Taking the time out to think, to strategize and really put your plan in place will make a huge difference in your climb. Life’s clock is ticking faster and faster, especially when faced with the coming departure of parents and the launching of grown children.

Making a Difference

Goals Women at Halftime

My desire is to make a difference in what I do and not waste time. I also want to have fun doing it with people I enjoy! Take the time to evaluate your competency, your experience, your relationships and your finances. Then dream a little! Read and explore new areas to gain more ideas. You will find those ideas under every rock you uncover, but channeling those ideas and combining them with your personal skillset is where the magic of reinvention lies. (Watch short video on GOALS here)

With longer life spans and the expansion of technology, there is more opportunity than ever before for reinvention. Don’t let fear, anxiety and lack of confidence hold you back! You just have to step out and do it!
