I Can’t Believe It’s Over
I stood looking at the stockings hung on the fireplace, I can’t believe it’s over! The holidays came and went so quickly this year. Then I had another thought. Greg and I were fortunate enough to still have our parents this year for Christmas dinner. (He, only his mother). With a sobering thought, I realized that they now are looking back on their life saying, I can’t believe it’s [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][almost] over! Of course, it’s not completely over for them yet and for that I’m grateful, but it’s moving at a quicker pace as the sands of time slip delicately through the sand glass.
I then reflected on this last year and realized how many of you are thinking that same phrase, I can’t believe it’s over! Have you accomplished even some of what you set out to do? Are you in a better and different place than last year? This doesn’t only apply to you physically, but mentally.
Shifts in Your Mindset
I have made some shifts in my business model for this next season. Music is a huge part of my life and flows like water for me. I’m still working in the field, but I have expanded my goals. I’m now combining music with speaking and media and love the creative process. Discovering my unique emphasis and focus has been a process for me, but a fascinating one as well. Working through my process will help me help others. Most businesses, just as entrepreneurs, need to re-evaluate and regroup at least every couple years as the market shifts like rushing water on a wild downhill course.
I realize the years will continue to tick by, increasing in swiftness and haste as I scramble to grab moments of memories with my family, friends and colleagues when I finally say I can’t believe it’s over! For the first time this past year, I’ve said yes to being on a board, and even yes to being the future president of a well-known organization. I am very careful about outside commitments, but I also have a lot to give—in professional and life experiences, as well as emotional strength. A strength that has been built through times I’ve been stuck.
Change Your Life: Get Unstuck
I just finished editing a very large video course Change Your Life: Get Unstuck (based on Stuck is Not a Four-Letter Word). The material is timeless and I am confident it will help many who commit to the course. As I spent a voluminous amount of time creating and editing, the unexpected happened. The message of the videos spoke to me and challenged me in my life! I’ve now reapplied some of the principles I wrote in Change Your Life: Get Unstuck. It further confirmed the value and importance of investing time and resources on personal goals, dreams and even significance. (Click here to preview and start this course-it will change your life!)

Plant, Water, Nurture then Grow!
There have been plenty of times I’ve felt not good enough, not able to compete confidently, or inadequate for a job set before me. Laboring though those times has made me what I am today—not perfect, but still working hard with the aim to encourage others in their life journey with media, music and message.
I hope this year brings you great joy in saying I can’t believe it’s over because you’re on track with the excitement of solid goals, habits and dreams. I have crafted some good goals for my year and realize that I can plant, water and nurture. But just as trees continue to bear fruit in our yard (in spite of lack of personal attention at times) God really causes the growth. That sort of mindset will be mine throughout 2017 when I again stand before the stockings with I can’t believe it’s over! What about you?
