YOUR GOAL SETTING WORKSHEET SHOULD FIRST INCLUDE YOUR PURPOSE
What would you like said about your life? No matter what stage of life you are in, this is a question that is good to ponder. None of us knows exactly how much time we have! This goal can be far off in the future, but should be achievable as you evaluate your capital, both in your career and financially. Great book on increasing capital: So Good They Can’t Ignore You: Why Skills Trump Passion in the Quest for Work You Love
LONG TERM GOALS
The categories for your long term goals can include health, home, career, financial, travel, net worth, etc… Customize these to your life and your particular career and interests. Many separate their personal and career goals, but I find that life and career goals are so connected. By creating a guide/sheet showing the full picture of both, it helps with the complete life balance that I desire and aim for.
SHORT TERM GOALS
Short term goals are an extension of your long term goals. Divide up your long term goals in easy-to-achieve steps and put a time frame on each. You can set a month, three months, six months, etc… I like to have a one year chart so I can see where I’ve been and where I’m going. You should customize this to what will work best for you. The main point of the chart is to help you stay on track. Remember the ten-minute timer technique. I guarantee you that it works! (Stuck is not a Four-Letter Word, pg.192)
